The microbiology section with BSL-3 lab offers a broad selection of tests to rapidly identify and characterize causative agents of infectious diseases in great depth. Supported with latest instruments like BACTEC FX40 / PHOENIX M50 the lab provides rapid accurate information to the clinicians about the infection causing Bacteria/Fungi along with antimicrobial susceptibility testing reports which highlight the antimicrobial resistant mechanism that can help clinicians not only in treating the patient with the appropriate antibiotics but also in strengthening Infection Control practices in today’s difficult time of high prevalence of Antimicrobial resistance in the country. There is a special BSL-3 section of lab for detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis by using different fully automated technologies including TB culture, drug sensitivity testing and molecular techniques.
